An Atkins executive has been telling health professionals that dieters should limit their saturated fat to "only" 20 percent of calories. But as any Atkins dieter will tell you:
...in their consumer publications, Atkins officials never have set limits on saturated fat, and Atkins is known widely as the diet that lets you eat all the meat you want.
What's the cause of this confusion? Are the Atkins people giving different stories to different groups intentionally, or is this honest confusion? Because weight gain and loss ultimately comes from caloric intake, "unlimited" amounts of meat and cheese will cause people to gain weight if they eat enough.
That is only a half-truth. Although it puts no limits on fats, the book clearly indicates that Atkins is not a "license to binge/gorge" and that if you eat too much protein it turns to fat in your body. Nice smear attempt by someone who obviously didn't read the book.....
